This land originally belonged to the Osage, Cheyenne, and Comanche peoples. The U.S. federal government then gave the land to the Creek nation, after their removal from Georgia. These lands were taken back after the Civil War and were opened to non-indigenous settlement on April 22,1889.
Now in the 3rd Congressional District, Kingfisher County includes the towns of Alpha, Cashion, Dover, Hennessey, Kingfisher, Loyal, Okarche, and Omega. Close to 25% of registered voters in Kingfisher County are Democrats, with another 8-9% unaffiliated.
Please come to one of our meetings to share your top issues or share on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/KingfisherDems/ or on our Twitter feed @KingfisherDems. Some issues considered are gerrymandering issues, education funding, social justice and diversity issues, sustainable & responsible energy programs, and more.
Kingfisher County Democrats in the past have offered scholarships for Young Democrats and have participated in local community events. We hope to continue these efforts as well as others. Public education of issues is crucial.
