Read. Be informed.

Read books.

Know who owns the media websites and stations you view, so you are aware of biases versus facts.

Learn conflict resolution skills as well as crisis communication skills AND compassionate communication skills. Fighting and arguing doesn't work. Find common ground, and start there.

Strategize.

Have your plan of what you, as a busy individual, can do. Make a phone call or write a postcard every day during the week, which only takes a minute. Have those folks in speed dial. Be polite to the assistants and get to know their names.

Set a plan for future elections. This is like "Survivor", folks! Don't get voted off the island! Have a plan! Fill all of your committee seats. Think ahead! No matter what folks say, while some things can change quickly, others things are a long game, so let's think smart!

Share our Successes.

Share the successes, no matter how small. Progressives almost got the OKDC--they missed by a hair. That may be a loss, but the fact that they lost by a hair means they can actually WIN next time.

Look on the bright side. We do have a young committee leadership. This is an asset to bring Berners and young people into the party. Let's get them involved!
